Except for some new high color system icons the interface of Windows Me is very similar to Windows 98 and Windows 2000. Other versions of Windows can download the media player and change the skin color in Windows ME. Microsoft kept integrating Microsoft Internet Explorer to the Windows system.
Windows XP was followed by Windows Me, Microsoft's desktop operating system based on the Windows NT kernel on which Windows 2000 was also based.
