DSL
What is DSL?

DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) is the technology that delivers high-speed Internet access to the users across the existing twisted pair telephone lines to transport high-bandwidth data, such as multimedia and video, to service subscribers. In DSL data signals are sent as changes in voltage on the wire. It enables much higher speeds up to 2 Megabits per second.

A DSL modem on the phone line splits the single phone line into two frequencies - one for data and one for voice. This allows simultaneous voice and high-bandwidth data, such as multimedia and video services over a single pair of copper telephone wires.
